Job Description

The Life Enrichment Director plans and coordinates a variety of social events to provide a vibrant and active community life for our residents. Some of those activities include:

• 1. Plans, schedules and implements the activities, for a weekly schedule, using creativity and available resources. Develops and posts calendar of events for the community. Creates schedules for community bus service including local shopping, scenic drives and destination trips. Drives the bus or van for the outings.

  2. Promotes participation and resident interaction by developing an understanding of the resident’s preferences, individual resident interests and abilities.

  3. Prepares and distributes newsletter with input from community groups, residents, employees and guests.

  4. Assists in orienting new residents to the community by introducing them to staff members, showing them around the community and making arrangement for them to be included in activities that foster integration.

  5. Works with marketing/management to develop community outreach programs for resident involvement (i.e. schools, hospitals, libraries, senior centers, local merchants, etc.).

  6. Performs activities designed to help the residents in one or more area of wellness (physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and intellectual).

  7. Performs other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• College degree in related field, or certificate program.
• 2 years of activity programming experience.
• 1 years of leadership experience, in senior living preferred.
• A love for seniors!
• Highly organized and great time management skills
• Energetic, engaging, and caring personality
• Ability to connect with people
• Must pass a background check and have a clean driving record
