Business Development Manager - Los Alamitos

Manages strategies to grow the credit union’s competitive position within its strategic markets. Responsible for establishing and strengthening relationships with businesses and organizations in the areas we serve in support of the credit union’s strategic priorities.  Oversees the Business Development staff to identify objectives to increase awareness, market share, membership, deposit growth and loan growth. Represents the credit union at key community events, engagements and SEG meetings. 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive membership, deposit and loan growth through active business development activities and achieve or exceed assigned growth goals by leading and working alongside business development staff.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business and community leaders by conducting networking and outreach initiatives. Identify and assess business development opportunities in Los Angeles County and Orange County, including key markets like healthcare, municipal services, law practices and others. Identify new SEGs aligned with the credit union’s business objectives.
  • Utilize lead management tools and strategies to effectively prospect and engage target business.
  • Lead, participate, organize, drive and execute business development events to increase awareness of the credit union and share the benefits of credit union membership.
  • Lead and coordinate financial wellness-related events including but not limited to seminars and webinars.
  • Contribute to the formulation, coordination and implementation of the Credit Union's sales plans, goals and objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience: Minimum five years of similar or related experience in a business development or finance role. Minimum three years of experience in a managerial role. Outside sales experience required.

 

Education: Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in business, finance/accounting, marketing, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.  Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.

 

Other Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally (written and verbal). Strong understanding of financial products and services and personal finance. Proven ability to manage people and perform duties independently. Must be able to travel independently and operate all types of general office equipment including PC.

Salary Base Pay: $86,000.00 annually plus commissions
