POSITION DESCRIPTION
The successful applicant will serve as the coordinator and instructor in the Pharmacy Technician program. As coordinator, the individual will be responsible for the organization, administration, periodic review, continued development, future accreditation and overall effectiveness of the educational program / courses.
As an instructor, the individual will teach Pharmacy Technician courses in both the traditional and computerized environment.
The individual will also assess student performance, ensure faculty qualifications and collaborate with Pharmacy Technician faculty to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction in the program / courses.
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed pharmacist or a nationally certified pharmacy technician; eligible to practice in the State of Illinois. A pharmacy technician must have graduated from an ASHP / ACPE- accredited pharmacy technician training program OR Possesses or is actively pursuing, with written plan for achieving, at least an Associate’s degree;
OR Has an appropriate state teaching credential.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
This is a nine-month teaching position with the salary determined by placement on the base salary schedule. For example, the minimum 2023-2024 starting salary at Step 3 on the Bachelor’s Degree column is $50,441;
the Master’s Degree column is $53,531. Voluntary overload teaching assignments and mandatory summer program coordination may increase the annual compensation by 40%.
