REPORTS TO: Director of Building & Facilities Operations
COMPENSATION: $15- $18 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The following briefly describes representative responsibilities of this job, but it is not intended to be a complete or all-inclusive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of this position:
Maintenance Duties:
- Maintains integrity of the facility, conducting regular inspections of the space and its contents and fixtures.
- Ensure proper completion of individual tasks, punch lists, safety hazard issues as assigned to guarantee the upkeep and repairs at all campus buildings.
- Complete various repairs of the buildings and grounds in the following areas:
- Plumbing: Basic repairs and maintenance of sinks, toilets, and drinking fountains
- HVAC: Resolve basic heating and ventilation difficulties, changes filters and belts
- Minor grounds and exterior cleanup
- Painting and drywall repair
- Ceiling tile maintenance, including grid repair and installation
- Basic electrical: replacing and/or changing light ballasts, bulbs, switches, and outlets, replaces batteries throughout headquarters. (i.e., clocks, automatic lavatory flushing mechanisms, automatic air fresheners, lavatory lighting, etc.).
- Keeps shop area and other work areas clean and organized.
- Routinely assesses needs and performs replacement of bulbs and batteries throughout headquarters (i.e., clocks, automatic lavatory flushing mechanisms, automatic air fresheners, lavatory lighting, etc.).
- Ensure equipment and lights are switched off, and premises are locked after hours
- Collaborating with facilities and safety/security team members
- Completes repairs as directed by immediate supervisor or other organization management representatives
- Completes and submits all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Keeps supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts, problems etc.; and recommends corrective actions
- Works cooperatively and conducts self in a professional manner at all times when in contact with consumers, staff, sub/contractors, monitors and the general public
- Performs other duties as assigned
Complete general janitorial duties, including but not limited to:
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors
- Waxing furniture and cleaning fixtures
- Disposing of trash and emptying trash receptacles
- Performing minor repairs
- Keeping buildings free from indoor pests
- Maintaining cleaning equipment
- Maintaining inventory of cleaning agents and equipment

- Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements include:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Experience in commercial HVAC or related field is preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to professionally respond to all maintenance and management/staff requests

Individuals in this position will generally work indoors and will have a workspace designated solely for them. Necessary office furnishings, equipment, and supplies will be provided by the Foundation. While performing the duties of this job, the team member may periodically be required to work outdoors and would be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The team member may periodically be required to work in an offsite environment or at special events, and from time to time may be asked to travel on Foundation business, at the Foundation’s expense. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
JOB STATUS:
- FLSA Classification: This position is non-exempt according to guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act and, as such, an individual in this position is eligible to receive overtime.
- Full- or Part-Time: This position is full-time in nature. An individual in this position will regularly work a schedule consisting of 40 hours per week.
- Work Location: This position’s primary worksite is the headquarters location in Colorado Springs, CO. The nature and responsibilities of this position are such that it is not eligible for alternative worksite arrangements, such as working from home or telecommuting, on a consistent or recurring basis.
