Job Responsibilities:
- Support daily payroll operations.
- Audit time and attendance systems to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Confirm proper approvals for timecards and hours worked.
- Handle garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, quarterly tax verifications, and workers' compensation reports.
- Perform administrative tasks as assigned by the payroll department.
- Collect, verify, and store payroll data.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and prepare summary reports or statements.
- Monitor general payroll-related emails.
- Respond to employment verification requests.
- Manage payroll employee files.
- Assist in training managers and new users on the time and attendance system.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Payroll Manager.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of payroll experience.
- Experience with payroll systems such as UltiPro and Kronos is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll.
- AA/Diploma in Business with a focus on payroll or equivalent education and experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including listening and critical reading.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to provide courteous and responsive support while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and maintaining high accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach, capable of building trusted relationships and being part of a high-performing team.
- Confidence in handling challenging employee interactions following rules, policies, and guidelines.
- Flexible and adaptable team player in a dynamic environment with fluctuating responsibilities.
