Shop Foreman
Experience (preferred or required):
Associate’s degree preferred
5 years of mechanic experience working in Trucking, and/or Transportation required
ASE Diesel Certification required.
Experience and skills in creating departments, personnel management, budgeting, sales/production
Valid drivers license required
Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components required
Good IT and diagnostic skills required
Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools required
5-7 years of experience managing/leading others
Business ERP software and mechanic software experience required
Strong working knowledge of Google Docs/Suite and MS Office including Word, Excel,
Outlook, and PowerPoint required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead all maintenance/mechanic processes and operations
Track expenses and oversee the budget for maintenance
Maintain all machinery to ensure it’s at working standards
Create and implement maintenance/mechanic procedures
Create KPIs and SOPs for department
Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems
Plan and manage all repair and installation activities
Ensure all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures
Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates
Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs
Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new supplies when necessary
Responsible for achieving targets of the mechanic shop
Hiring and training new employees
Manage employees effectively and efficiently – employee relations, performance reviews
Provide excellent service to our vendors and customers
Respond to phone calls and e-mails in a timely fashion
Follow and adhere to Company policies, procedures, and guidelines
Willing to learn the industry and help us maintain and grow our marketplace position
Attend business meetings and trainings as required
Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
