Minimum Requirements
Education
- Graduate of a BSN program
Experience
- 5 consecutive years in a licensed clinical nursing role performing similar duties
License/Registration/Certifications
- Current South Carolina Registered Nurse Licensure
- Current ANCC Informatics Nurse (RN-BC) board certification or within 18 months of position start date
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in computer skills and basic Microsoft Office tools

- Graduate of an MSN - Informatics program
Preferred Experience
- Nursing informatics, clinical informatics, and/or information technology experience
Preferred License/Registration/Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Associate in Health Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS)
- Certified Professional in Health Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS)
- Certification in a relevant Epic application(s) [ClinDoc, ASAP, Stork, OpTime, Dorothy, etc.]

- Implement nursing informatics strategies related to health information technology procurement, implementation, maintenance, and optimization.
- Act as a change agent in the implementation of informatics strategies to support quality patient care and professional practice.
- Serve as an informatics nurse resource for improving and standardizing nursing processes, documentation, interdisciplinary communication, and outcomes.
- Assess the impact of information systems on nursing practice and ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Support the integration of standard work practices across clinical departments for quality patient care.
- Recommend and implement changes to improve compliance with standards.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and Lean/Six Sigma methodology.
- Support the development and integration of clinical and business metrics in collaboration with various departments.
- Participate in clinical information system/technology projects and initiatives.
- Administer various nursing-centered clinical information systems, applications, and technologies.
- Develop and maintain unit-based and integrated test plans.
- Identify and evaluate clinical information system anomalies, errors, or inefficiencies.
- Collaborate on clinical education plans and materials to support nursing competency.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of change management, teamwork, and effective communication.
- Promote safe, effective, and efficient use of health information technology.
