Overview
As a key member of the OVG Canada team, the Director of Strategy will focus on the development of sports and entertainment programs and partnerships for industry leading brands, properties and partners. This role will also effectively inform brand consulting, valuation analysis, and overall scaling of OVG Canada’s business operations. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven, creative, energetic and organized thought leader tuned to deliver breakthrough marketing solutions rooted in sports and culture that deliver for fans and brands.
Responsibilities
- Lead OVG Canada’s partnership development process including the identification of prospects, development of presentations, pitches and proposal materials.
- Work closely with OVG Canada’s leadership team to translate research, leads and opportunity briefs into marketing strategy views and materials
- Work with OVG Canada’s leadership team to develop a strategic plan to drive revenue for the Canadian P&L.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of all OVG Canada’s clients and OVG properties/initiatives and be able to work toward integrating, aligning, and executing OVG Canada’s revenue goals
- Create and effectively maintain reporting documents in an organized manner; Develop and track new revenue pipeline to present to senior leadership, ownership, etc. on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Monitor relevant market developments in the entertainment/sporting industry.
- Lead OVG Canada’s sponsorship performance vertical, leveraging measurement tools, 3rd party and proprietary data to effectively demonstrate ROSI (return on sponsorship investment) for client and partners
- Work closely with OVG’s Global and OVG 360 teams to identify opportunities, trends, industry white-space as well as insights that help with partnership retention and development
- Attend networking and promotional events to develop and maintain contact with potential clients and professional partners.
- Must have the ability to network and create relationships while working efficiently in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Minimum 5-8% travel expected.
- Performs all other duties as required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
- 5-10 years of consulting or sponsorship experience in a high-performance sales environment; Sports, Entertainment and/or Arena Industry experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be dynamic, forward-thinking, extremely analytical and well organized.
- Must have strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
- Strong natural selling skills with proven experience in pitch and strategic positioning.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word); Adobe Creative Cloud suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) experience a plus.
- Must have the presence, visibility and record of accomplishment which will enable him/her to immediately establish credibility both within the organization and with individuals outside.
- Must possess problem solving capabilities to address and resolve issues that face a growing enterprise. When necessary, he/she will be a strong and effective negotiator, comfortable in both complex negotiations as well as sophisticated business situations.
- Must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non- verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
- Must produce results and be bottom-line oriented yet will possess sensitivity towards people and values.
- Professional appearance, attitude and communication skills as well as the ability to work with others are required.
- Experienced with the development and execution of dynamic and effective platforms.
- Familiarity with the standard demographic research & analytics tools (i.e.- IMI, Scarborough, Nielsen, etc.) and ability to derive insights from the data.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
