JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing accurate, timely and effective communications to enable Business Unit employees to provide great customer service. Plans and provides clearly written and easy to understand communications to employees in support of Business Unit initiatives.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Initiates, develops and executes concepts to improve ongoing communications with employees (e.g., e-communications, knowledge management system and videos).
Plans, researches, creates and writes communications materials and web content to support Business Unit initiatives including, but not limited to product enhancements, policies, processes, rate adjustments, marketing initiatives, operational initiatives, acquisitions and divestitures.
Develops and executes a uniform method for reviewing and approving Business Unit communications and web content.
Facilitates cross-functional Business Unit communications review meetings
Develops working relationships with Charter’s internal subject matter experts (SMEs).
Establishes working relationships with managers across all functional areas.
Develops knowledge and understanding of internal communication tools and techniques and how these can best be used within Charter.
Performs other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Effective writing skills and strong ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Demonstrated project management skills and process improvement skills
Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
Ability to analyze and interpret data and summarize written copy into easy to understand content
Ability to create plans, timelines & process flowcharts
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
Ability to partner cross functionally and lead/collaborate through influence
Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and time in order to meet multiple deadlines
Ability to write, design or edit web content using authoring or scripting language or content creation tools such as Dreamweaver and Flash
Ability to provide work samples (i.e., printed publications, intranet communications, employee meetings and events, videos, announcements, etc.)
Knowledge of cable television products and services
Knowledge of best practices and enterprise knowledge management systems
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent experience

Communications experience - 5
