What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer position at Spencer Ogden?
Spencer Ogden is supporting one of our clients in their search for a civil engineer/project manager to sit anywhere in the state of Michigan. Candidates must be comfortable with 50-60% of the job traveling around the state to job sites. When not travelling, candidates may work from home.
This would start out as a 1-year W2 contract, likely to extend after. Pay ranges from $60-69/hr.
The Civil Engineer will engage in multiple projects with varying levels of responsibility. Key duties include: (1) identifying and defining the civil engineering design and construction requirements for project completion, (2) contracting the necessary engineering services, (3) providing engineering review and technical oversight, (4) supporting the Project Manager in securing construction services, and (5) overseeing project closeout activities, including record drawings and test documentation.
Requirements:
- MUST have a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
- 5 years of experience in project engineering/management.
- Proficient in civil design, with relevant areas including site design, stormwater management, pre-engineered metal building design, foundation design, storage tank design, and environmental permitting (e.g., wetlands, soil erosion, culverts). Experience in one or more of these design areas is preferred.
- Must be located in the state of Michigan.
- Must be able to communicate effectively within the company & with outside vendors.
