Job Purpose:
To provide direct service to children, adolescents, adults and families through individual, group and family counseling to meet individual treatment needs. Provide counseling services to ensure that established goals are being addressed and documented in accordance with all rules, policies and procedures in various systems. We have openings at our Mount Vernon, IL and West Frankfort, IL offices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Counseling: Provide counseling appointments with each client; Ensure counseling sessions are individualized to meet the treatment goals and interventions suggested by the DSM-IVR for the specific diagnosis of each client; maintain current information regarding therapeutic interventions relevant to the populations served Prepare for counseling sessions to ensure productivity towards achieving the client’s goals during sessions and referral, as necessary, for linkage to additional services outside of agency
Productivity: Provide at least 22 hours of billable services per week
Treatment Planning: Create Individual Treatment Plan; Attend all clinical and case management staffings as necessary; conduct on-going treatment planning for the client; Consult with Assistant Manager, Program Manager, Executive Director of Clinical Services and Treatment Team when needed; collaborate with other therapists to provide clinical knowledge, strategies and dynamics for optimal service delivery effectiveness
Paperwork: Ensure that Progress Notes, Individual Treatment Plans, Mental Health Assessments, quarterly reports and any other documentation required by the agency is completed and filed in the appropriate location; Ensure all documentation/notes are completed by 5pm on Friday of the week of service, or by the last day of the month the service was provided in, whichever comes first.
Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelors’ Degree in Human Services required
Preferred: Masters’ Degree in Human Services preferred, LCPC/LCSW preferred
Skills: Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions, Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints, Ability to compose materials such as letters, routine forms, routines, memoranda, detailed reports, work related manuals, publications of limited scope or impact, and/or make presentations inside and/or outside the organization.
Miscellaneous: Pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances, computer skills
