Technical Accountant

The Role: As the Technical Accountant you will provide guidance on accounting issues to ensure compliance. Responsibilities: Prepare financial statements and footnote disclosures for annual audit report. Prepare accounting analysis memorandums which document the procedures performed and results obtained as the result of accounting research under U.S. GAAP Perform goodwill and intangible asset impairment analyses. Document and maintain key accounting policies and positions. Review new accounting pronouncements and lead implementation of required new accounting policies and procedures. Collaborate with other team members in providing accounting guidance on various transactions, including but not limited to revenue recognition, capitalized software development, fixed assets, leases, business combinations, impairment, and equity accounting. Assist with month end close, journal entries and reconciliations. Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting CPA required, knowledge of IFS is a plus 3-5 years in audit or technical accounting role Big 4 accounting firm experience Proficiency in accounting research required and Technical Policy Must be an accomplished business writer with experience crafting Executive Summaries and Memo-writing. Problem solving and critical thinking skills Experience with Microsoft Office products Sphera is an equal opportunity employer.
