What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optical Lab Technician position at Spherion?
Spherion in partnership with Orascoptic is recruiting for an Optical Lab Technician . Shift is 6:30 am - 3:00 pm OR 3 pm - 11:30 pm Monday - Friday. The Optical Lab Technician is responsible for RX Surface Lab, Glass Button Grinding, Edging or Drilling. Candidates with some CNC experience or Optical Lab Experience are great candidates. This is a temp to hire position with a $1,000 sign on bonus. We are open to training the right candidate!
Position Overview:
This role will operate optical lab equipment (table top machines) in at least one of the following areas:
Rx Surface Lab, Glass Button Grinding, Edging or Drilling
Essential Responsibilities:
· Operate equipment in a safe manner to produce quality optical components and assemble as needed to manufacture loupes
· Understand and follow GMP and ISO procedures
· Perform preventative maintenance procedures
· Other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills:
· Experience operating optical lab equipment but CNC experience is acceptable
· Experience working in a manufacturing environment
· Familiarity with prescription lenses and diagnostic equipment
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED
· Ability to read and interpret Standard Operating Procedures
· Speak, Read and write English

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
