What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at SPI LLC?
Summary
Operate numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances. Responsible for coordinating fabrication activities/personnel.
Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Train other fabrication personnel as needed
- Under direction of the Production Superintendent, direct personnel to move material, fabricate at work cells, package finished goods, etc.
Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
- Previous fabrication experience required
- Teamwork and multi-tasking skills
- Must be able to operate a forklift and/or pallet jack
- Must be able to operate measuring devices
- Must have knowledge of machining techniques/methods and related experience
- Ability to write legibly and communicate clearly with professionalism and courtesy
Work Environment
Fabrication/warehouse environment
Physical demands may include but are not limited to:
- High level of walking, standing, and/or climbing
- Stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Work outside/inside around machinery with moving parts and vehicles
- Exposure to all seasons of weather, as well as slippery and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 60lbs
