What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Specialist/CTRS position at SPIN?
The Program Specialist / CTRS Position is integral to SPIN by supporting a life of possibilities for individuals receive Community Participation Supports. The Program Specialist / CTRS supports individuals in active, valued participation in a broad range of integrated activities that build on the individual’s interests, preferences, gifts and strengths while reflecting his or her desired outcomes related to employment and community involvement.
Accountabilities of a Program Specialist/CTRS
- Provides care and support to all individuals to assure that they are safe and all needs are met in accordance with the ISP.
- Maintain Program files in accordance with Department of Human Services 2380 regulations, ODP requirements, Community Participation Supports requirements, and the policies and procedures of SPIN.
- Coordinate and complete Annual Assessments for ISP and outcome development; Assessment updates and Assessment revisions as needed.
- Participate in the development of the ISP, annual update and revisions through attending the annual ISP meetings, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Assure that each person’s individualized plan is written to achieve specific outcomes, derived from individual’s preferences, needs and interests.
- Review the ISP, annual update and all revisions. Report discrepancies and follow up with Supports Coordinators and team members as needed.
- Complete, review, sign and date monthly, quarterly, annual documentation of individual’s participation and progress towards outcomes
- Develop, update and train CSP staff on current behavioral plans and SEEP plans annually, as needed.
- Provide documentation of the plan review (quarterly review, annual assessment, assessment revisions, other) to SC and team members
- Complete bi-annual leisure interest surveys to assess recreational and vocational/competitive employment interests.
- Implement recreation therapy activities during CPS daily program hours, evenings and weekends as needed.
- Provide support to Individuals, DSPs and Recreational Therapists to develop and facilitate meaningful daily/weekly/monthly Community Participation schedules.
- Provide Recreation Therapy support alongside DSP’s outside of the facility when needed, to troubleshoot and decrease barriers to increase success of Community Participation activities.
- Provide support to individuals to develop and facilitate meaningful daily/weekly/monthly Community Participation schedules.
The Tools you need:
- BS or higher in Therapeutic Recreation
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or eligible to sit for exam with expectation to acquire CTRS credential within 6 months of hire.
- 2 years of experience working with people with disabilities required
- Driver’s license, vehicle, insurance and willingness to travel throughout the greater Philadelphia region
