The Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport is seeking a dynamic, experienced Lobby Ambassador to take on the challenge of a unique position within a 488-room hotel that boasts 50,000 square feet of event space. The Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport is conveniently located near Hollywood and Universal Studios in the center of the entertainment hub. Compensation: $18.00 per hour
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Remain calm and attentive, especially during heavy hotel activity and emergencies.
* Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding hotel and amenities.
* Willing to take ownership of all guest requests and complaints, try to resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guests satisfaction.
* Provide excellent service consistent with the hotels standards operating procedures and brand attributes.
* Observe and maintain health and safety standards.
* Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and shared objects each time they are used.
* Take drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
* Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks.
* Properly handle and maintain all equipment’s.
* Serve customers quickly and efficiently.
* Observe and patrol pool and enforce safety regulations.
* Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and shared objects each time they are used. For example: Handrails, slides, lounge chairs, tabletops, chairs, door handles and surfaces of restrooms, handwashing stations and showers.
* Thoroughly clean and polish all metal surfaces, applying pressure in repeated motion.
* Clean ashtrays and empty trash.
* Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of pool deck and facilities including straightening and stacking chairs, collecting trash and used towels, moving chairs.
* Provide towels to guests and assist them in setting up their chairs.
* Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to Safety/Security Department.
* Performs other hotel duties as assigned by Manager.
Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:
* Passion for guest service
* Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English.
* Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
* Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout shift.
Other Expectations:
* Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
* Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. This includes nights, weekends and/or holidays.
* All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
* Employee is always required to take on the responsibility and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
* Complies with health and safety rules, regulations and procedures to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications:
Education:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge of skills and abilities.
Experience:
Previous hotel or guest service experience preferred.
Grooming:
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
Other:
Additional language ability preferred.
