We are looking for someone who can provide the Observability pricing expertise, field enablement, & commercial strategy insights to accelerate Observability sales and quoting velocity. The role will be accountable for developing pricing proposals for field sales requests for pricing & RFPs, maintaining key pricing tools and sales assets, and providing recommendations into strategic pricing initiatives and improvements for Splunk’s commercial strategy. In this role, you will work with field, partner, and product leaders to continually optimize our pricing and commercial strategy by providing real analytical insights with respect to Splunk, competitor pricing, and ways to better serve our customers. You have strong interpersonal skills to foster close working relationships with sales, partner, and product teams. In addition, you have curiosity and organization, are data driven & love tinkering with data, and have the ability to listen and move quickly on high impact projects by transforming account team discussions and technical needs into structured Observability pricing proposals and plans.
Responsibilities
- Develop customer pricing proposal for field sales team requests and support pricing enablement & pricing office hours for field teams
- Own Observability pricing and sizing calculator, continually look for ways to improve and scale pricing processes & operations
- Conduct Observability pricing enablement and develop & innovate to improve pricing tools & sales enablement, including intel on competitor pricing for sales enablement, and improve ROI and value based pricing models used by the field
- Develop pricing recommendations that follow a logically reasoned, data-driven approach, supported by appropriate market research and competitive analysis
- Prepare monthly pricing management reports, including pricing waterfalls, discount metrics and street price analysis
- Drive strategic systems initiatives for Salesforce CPQ pricing to improve use experience, quoting velocity and accuracy
Requirements
- 3-5 years of software sales experience driving SaaS/Cloud sales including sizing customer monitoring needs and developing pricing proposals
- Knowledge of industry pricing metrics for Observability, APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, DEM software
- Experience with Google Sheets, Salesforce, CPQ. Familiarity with Tableau
- You are known as someone who “gets stuff done” and isn’t afraid to roll up sleeves.
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA/graduate degree a plus
