The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining well-planned marketing strategies for Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill, Champion Mill Conference Center, Warehouse Hotel, and Forklift and Palate Restaurant. This position is responsible for targeting and communicating to existing customers, while driving new customers. They work with the media to provide a positive perspective on their company and proactively promote stories of potential interest to media.
This position reports to the Corporate Director of Marketing.

Essential Job Functions
- Identifies story ideas about Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill, Champion Mill Conference Center, Warehouse Hotel, and Forklift and Palate Restaurant and strategically uses those stories to raise the profile of these businesses
- Develops relevant and impactful marketing campaigns, including social media, email, and website promotions in order to drive customer traffic
- Oversees and works with the Marketing Coordinator and Communications Coordinator
- Planning, developing and implementing PR strategies
- Liaising with colleagues and key spokespeople
- Pitches stories, answer media inquiries, cultivate relationships and coordinate media visits and appearances, including guided media and marketing tours
- Writing and distributing press releases
- Ensure all internal and external marketing meets the qualifications of our brand standards
- Monitors, collects, and reports media coverage to office team
- Writing and editing case studies, speeches, and annual reports
- Devising and coordinating photo opportunities with media
- Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, press and marketing tours
- Sourcing and managing speaking engagements and sponsorship opportunities
- Organize professional photo and video shoots for Spooky Nook Sports, Warehouse Hotel and Forklift and Palate Restaurant photos, magazines, television ads, etc.
- Manage internal PR with employees such as a company newsletter
- Coordinate press interviews with key personnel and journalists
- Attend weekend and evening events in the event that media shows up and to also take video and photos
- Write, review and approve internal and external communications
- Respond to chat and social messages on weekends and evenings
- Work with the Corporate Director of Marketing on projects, as needed
- All Other Duties as Assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have dependable transportation to and from work
- Bachelor’s in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
- Five or more years of experience working in a relevant marketing position
- Previous experience speaking to small and large groups in a public forum
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Constant Contact
- Basic Word Press or relevant website editor knowledge
- Familiarity with Google Analytics
- High level of computer knowledge including all Microsoft Office programs, and event management software
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public to serve as liaison to high profile members of the community and the tourism industry

Working Conditions
- Work environment: Upbeat, high-energy sports and event complex with heavy foot traffic and frequent large crowds. This position will primarily work in an office environment.
- Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, talking, hearing, standing, and sitting for long periods of time while working on a computer. He or she will frequently be required to bend, reach, lift, push and pull. The team member will be occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
