What will the Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting do at Spotless Brands Do?
Reporting to the Senior Benefits Manager, the Benefits Analyst will support the day-to-day operations of the US health & welfare, retirement and ancillary benefits programs for employees and covered dependents. Core responsibilities will span across strategy, competitive analysis, design, and governance, as well as the administration and delivery of the programs. The role will require knowledge of US benefit market trends, regulations, and tax laws. This role will support and drive how we manage and oversee our US benefit spend and deliver programs in a highly effective, financially prudent, compliant, competitive, and innovative way.
What will you get to do?
- Assists with the implementation and maintenance of all administration and compliance aspects of health and welfare, retirement, and ancillary benefit programs, including planning and communication.
- Support employees at all levels with benefit enrollments, plan year changes, and annual enrollment changes in the HRIS system.
- Completes annual non-discrimination testing, retirement plan audits, and ensures 401k administrative fees are assessed and used properly.
- Analyze program utilization, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve effectiveness of existing programs.
- Develop plan analytics, including preparation of reports, materials, and presentations.
- Participates in strategic benefit review, weekly, monthly, and quarterly vendor performance sessions, and manages benefit vendor performance on a day-to-day basis.
- Support the annual open enrollment process - pre and post enrollment cycle and answer employee questions throughout the process.
- Resolve team member and HR questions in a timely manner, with customer mindset.
- Review and audit the benefit bills for accuracy and to ensure timely payment.
- Maintains compliance calendar for required notices and related mailings, government filings, etc.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state legislation, including ERISA, DOL and IRS guidelines, COBRA, ACA, FMLA and HIPAA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- In partnership with others, identify benefits communication needs, ensure benefit programs are communicated effectively to drive employee awareness and benefits program utilization. This may include writing, editing content and disseminating material through various media channels.
- Works with internal and external legal, payroll, brokers, consultants, and vendors to ensure government filings, PPACA/PCORI fees, Transitional Reinsurance Fees, Employer Mandate hours tracking/reporting, plan documents, reports and notices, file feeds, Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan filings, policies and company procedures are up to date with current government requirements.
- Manages projects as appropriate by researching, evaluating, and providing input on options for new plan features or designing new plans to incorporate company initiatives or legislative requirements.
- Participates in due diligence and manages integrations related to merger and acquisition activity.
- Other duties as required.
What will you bring?
Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree, Business Administration, Finance or related discipline
- 3 years of demonstrated health and welfare and/or retirement benefits plan experience, in a corporate setting or demonstrated experience in a consulting firm.
Preferred:
- CEBS or CBP
Skills and Abilities
- Background in administering health and welfare and retirement benefits including strategy, administration, outsourcing, compliance, and employee communications.
- Prior experience in an outsourced health and welfare and retirement administration environment
- Project Management Managing projects proficiently, efficiently, and with accountability for project results. Proven ability to manage projects simultaneously, ability to work independently in a team environment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
