Who We Are:
The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Instructional Science Coach at Springfield High School for the 2024-2025 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. As a Instructional Coach, you are required to:
- Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree preferred
- Valid and current Teaching Certificate/License isued by the Ohio Department of Education
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in exceptional classroom instruction
As a Instructional Coach you will:
- Meets regularly with the Principal, Coordinator and the Director of Teaching and Learning
- Identifies and assesses barriers and challenges in the classroom to support teachers
- Understands the complexities of the learning process and is able to design, support, understand and promote the instructional and curriculum practices that have been selected by the District, and support practices that help teachers be successful
- Fosters a supportive, feed-back friendly relationship with teachers and leadership
- Supports all social emotional learning (SEL) initiatives
- Advises teachers on becoming more effective facilitators of learning for all students
- Assists in supporting challenging curriculum, dynamic instruction and an effective program of effective multifaceted assessment
- Partners with building leadership to continually improve the building’s yearly academic priorities and Performance on the academic performance indicators identified on the Local Report Card
- Provides teachers coaching support
- Supports Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) in assigned buildings
- Keeps current with K-12 course of study, District scope and sequence framework, and state standards/guidelines
- Advocates for and interprets curriculum and instruction programs to interested parents, school-related groups and others in the community
- Coordinates teaching and learning initiatives
- Facilitates professional development and supports Teacher Based Teams
- Engages in collaborative planning with colleagues, supporting building and District-level programs
- Prepares the necessary records and reports related to the performance of curriculum coaching responsibilities
- Supports the Principal in the implementation of District policies impacting teaching and learning
- Assists in supporting challenging curriculum, dynamic instruction and an effective program of effective multifaceted assessment
- Partners with leadership and staff to analyze data
- Participates in expected and required training and professional development opportunities
- Supports building level professional development needs identified by the building principals, as requested by teachers, and or directed
- Performs other duties as assigned
What We Offer:
As a contracted employee, Teachers work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day.
Starting salary is $42,957.00 with increases for additional education and experience, plus an additional ten (10) extended days.
