Description Summary:

Springfield Armory is currently seeking an experienced Software Developer (Programmer). This position will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting custom application development and 3rd party product integrations. Additionally, the software developer provides specific 3rd tier support for custom applications.

Responsible for analysis, design, coding, and documentation of high-quality software products using technologies such as DataFlex, Microsoft .NET and SQL.

Utilizes fully developed object-oriented skills to deliver designs and code consistent with Springfield Armory’s object-oriented application framework.

• Works collaboratively with IT Business Analyst, software engineers, and management to ensure applications developed meet business needs and goals.

• Focuses on quality through comprehensive unit and integration testing and static analysis as well as rigorous test plan development.

• Improves the software development process by recommending and instituting changes in policies and procedures.
• Researches and continues to learn new technology to ensure optimum performance.
• Provides technical guidance to team members through education and coaching of best practice object-oriented programming principles.
• Ensures all work is reviewed to confirm adherence to relevant development standards.
• Escalates product issues and suggests product improvements.
• Other duties and responsibilities, special projects, office work/correspondence, and travel may be required to facilitate the department’s productivity.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline expected. Must possess demonstrated proven work history and the ability to work cooperatively with others. Experience in software development of commercial-grade systems and applications, preferably in DataFlex, Microsoft .Net and SQL Experience with SDLC Methodologies. Requires strong and effective analytical, communication and technical skills. Appropriate training and knowledge of applicable state and federal laws necessary. Must be cognizant of safety regulations pertaining to the handling and use of firearms. This position is trusted to handle and protect company-private information: discretion, integrity, and ethics nonnegotiable.
