DUTIES:
- Manage the District’s Student Information System (SIS) team, developing the processes and procedures needed to effectively manage student data and implementing the strategies needed to develop proficient PowerSchool end-users.
- Responsible for:
- Managing personnel activities of staff, including performance reviews, supervision, and professional development
- Establishing priorities and schedules resources to meet the needs of the organization.
- Implementing a support strategy for PowerSchool end-users.
- Implementing a strategy for end-user documentation and knowledgebase articles.
- Developing the training plan for PowerSchool for end-users.
- Developing and maintaining administrative procedures.
- Developing and maintaining project documentation and project plans.
- Managing all aspects of PowerSchool System administration.
- Coordinating and implementing new features of the software.
- Reviewing, updating, and enhancing existing processes and procedures.
- Coordinating data audits and data governance efforts.
- Reporting data to State and Federal agencies. This includes but is not limited to SIMS, SSDR, EPIMS, and SCS.
- Managing PowerSchool application integration and verifying data integration.
- Managing PowerSchool software update releases.
- Managing the testing plans for PowerSchool software features and functionality.
- Report to the Director of Information Management
- Perform related work as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred.
- Five years proven experience administering PowerSchool SIS (with at least one year in a senior-level technical position); or, demonstrated experience managing an information technology team of five or more; or five years of proven experience administering an ERP solution such as Salesforce, MUNIS, or Workday (with at least one year in a senior-level technical position).
- Ability to articulate one’s management style, philosophy, and strategy.
- Ability to manage and motivate people to get the most out of their abilities.
- Ability to understand, support, and communicate senior management goals and decisions.
- Proficiency with database management systems.
- Proficiency with IT Service Management concepts.
- Proficiency understanding software manuals and other types of technical documentation.
- Proficiency with problem identification and resolution, defining and managing business requirements.
- Familiarity with Agile development and project management methodologies is preferred.
- Ability to contact technical support and resolve requests for support.
- Proven vendor management capabilities and resource management abilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written, with various stakeholders including IT leadership, District leadership, school administrators and staff.
- Demonstrated success working independently and collaboratively.
- Adept at effectively managing multiple priorities in a high-demand environment.
- Ability to facilitate meetings using communication and presentation software.
- Proficiency with office productivity applications.
- Proficiency with application security and authentication.
- Familiarity with flow-charts and process diagrams.
- Familiarity with SQL.
