Campbell Clinic is a national leader in sports medicine, pediatric orthopaedics, joint replacement, orthopaedic oncology, orthopaedic trauma, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and surgery of the hand, hip, foot, knee, shoulder and spine. The Campbell team is dedicated to sustaining Dr. Willis Campbell’s vision and life’s work of advancing orthopaedics and caring for people in our community and around the globe. The Campbell Foundation is seeking a Research Nurse to support the development, implementation and growth of clinical research. The position will report to the Research Manager. The position will be based in Germantown, TN and will support research programs across multiple orthopaedic sub-specialties and the Campbell Clinic footprint.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Campbell Foundation Research Scholar role is a one-year experience (with an opportunity to renew for a second year) that aims to provide recent college graduates with an in-depth experience in clinical research. The Research Scholar works directly with physicians, residents and research partners in clinics to facilitate studies, inform the practice of orthopaedic medicine and produce materials for publication and education.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
1. Screens, recruits and gains consent for new patients for study projects
2. Manages clinical data databases to include collection and analysis
3. Coordinates clinical research projects, assists in study design, and participates in Institutional Review Board (IRB) negotiations in conjunction with the Principal and Co-Investigators and Research Nurse Coordinators
4. Performs literature searches to obtain articles, citations, and other published information
5. Assists with drafting, writing, and editing of Reports for clinical research projects which includes abstracts, posters, manuscripts, articles and book chapters
6. Completes onboarding of medical students to Campbell Clinic electronic systems and remote access
7. Manages Outcomes Based Electronic Research Database (OBERD) order entry and available forms
8. Presents updates and data to research teams in meetings and symposia as needed
9. Completes OSHA, HIPAA, Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) and other relevant trainings and certifications as needed
10. Regular and predictable attendance
11. Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
12. Performs other duties as assigned
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry or similar natural science required.
Medical School Graduate or Medical Student preferred.
Experience: Research experience preferred.
Demonstrated organizational leadership and communication skills required.
Computer Skills: Must be computer literate with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.
Database experience a plus.
