What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Adminstrator position at SRI?
Note: This position requires at least 40% travel and overnight stay in Lancaster CA. The position is project specific (12 month term) with the possibility of additional projects or regular assignment in Redlands CA.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a HR Administrator to support a large field project and to act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Handle all written and verbal employee queries with the utmost confidentiality
· Reports relevant queries to the human resource director as is appropriate.
· Serves as the point person for employees to lay their complaints and make inquiries.
· Handle disciplinary actions and termination paperwork as needed
· Help in payroll management, preparation and timekeeping
· Provide guidance on employee behavior and conflict resolution
· Communicate update policies and procedures
· Contribute to the successful delivery of human resource functions through displaying the company’s values and general goals/objectives and the growth of the company at large.
· Handle hotline issues with confidentiality and in a timely manner
· Maintaining records, preparing documents, ensuring employees receive adequate support
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Excellent telephone, verbal, and written communication skills.
· Ability to effectively use computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and HR software
· The ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
· Must be approachable and helpful.
· Strong critical thinking skills.
· Good ethical judgment.
· Detail-oriented with great prioritization and organizational skills
· Reliable with the ability to work well under pressure
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communication effectively
· Act as a reliable and supportive team member
· Bachelor’s degree in business, management, human resources, or communication required
· aPHR, PHR, or HR certification preferred
· 1-3 years of HR experience
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment, read printed materials, and a computer screen, and communicate in person and over the telephone. Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: fingering, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
May also be required to travel to project site that will require wearing PPE including hard hat. Will be subjected to environmental changes of heat, cold, wind, sun, rain, etc.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
