At our SRI International, Ann Arbor, MI campus, we are looking for a Sr. Research Engineer, RF who will have proven expertise in RF system design, test, and measurement. Pertinent systems include connectorized RF systems, printed circuit boards, and antennas. This background will provide a basis for leading small engineering teams to develop state-of-the-art solutions to important client problems.
You will make leading-edge contributions to existing programs and help to shape the direction of future research efforts. Qualified candidates are a Principal Investigator or have the experience to develop in the near term into a Principal Investigator, designing new research paths, supervising research staff, and interacting with research sponsors to fund new program directions. Most programs are executed in small, highly collaborative groups.
From applied research to product development, the Advanced Technology and Systems Division (ATSD) manages complex projects for government and commercial clients. The vision of ATSD is to create competitive advantages for our customers by inventing new technology and concepts resulting in disruptive, low cost, and high-performance solutions. The division advances the state of the art in diverse areas such as radar and electronic warfare; novel imaging technology; robotics; quantum sensing and metrology; marine technology; and applied optics.

The Work May Also Include
- Design, build, test, and deployment support of custom RF circuits, including receivers and transmitters
- Development of interfaces to control custom RF circuits
- Use of industry-standard and development of custom receiver system modeling tools
- Develop new business by interfacing with clients and leading proposal efforts. Act as project Principal Investigator.
Qualifications
- M.S. or Ph.D. degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or B.S. with 10 years of experience of direct relevance to this position.
- U.S. Citizenship is required along with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of RF system design, test, and measurement Ability to work across and lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Solid communication, presentation and leadership skills.
