Job Highlights:

Prior EMS or Paramedic experience preferred.

Working under the direction of the SSM EMS Program, the liaison will act as another link between SSM Health St. Mary’s Madison and local EMS partners to facilitate prompt and thorough data and information sharing. 

Duties may include, but are not limited to: 

Work with the SSM Health St. Mary’s Madison EMS Coordinator to act as liaison with healthcare, public safety, and community partners  COVID related notifications and follow up  Significant Exposure loop closure  CARES data entry and cardiac arrest reconciliation  Provide STEMI, Stroke, Trauma or other applicable follow up  Involvement in hospital- based initiatives involving EMS Support of integration of prehospital education with hospital service lines and departments

Participation in continuous improvement projects, Health Data Exchange (HDE) auditing and data analytics  EMS student scheduling  Support SSM Health EMS Program Event Medicine team. Act as back-up to SSM Health St. Mary’s Madison EMS Coordinator in their absence other duties as assigned. 

 16 hour schedule per week | Part-time position

Shift Variable: While it is primarily days, there may be some PMs and weekend requirements depending on what events or trainings are scheduled.

This position offers flexible hours, but it is desired that the FTE be split over 3-4 days each week to allow for consistent follow up and monitoring.

*Prior Paramedic experience is preferred

Job Summary:

Serves as the liaison between the hospital and the emergency medical services (EMS) community. Coordinates monthly education, chief medical officer meetings, and rounding on EMS districts.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures patient safety through compliance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures which result in zero preventable errors.
  • Works in collaboration with others to improve patient, employee, EMS, and physician satisfaction.
  • Participates in the creation of a financially effective facility through the efficient utilization of resources and identification for EMS growth opportunities.
  • Functions as a member of the team through active participation in educational coordination of EMS, staff meetings, committees, and special projects.
  • Demonstrates and promotes the principles of relationship based care through the development of healthy relationships with EMS, patients, staff and physicians. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
