Position Specific Information:
This is a PRN4 position - PM phlebotomist position, 8-hour shifts from 12:00pm – 8:30pm. Minimum requirement of 24 hours per week, with possibility of up to 40 hours per week depending on department need. The duration is up to 26 weeks (to be agreed upon at offer stage).
This position requires rotating weekend and every other holiday commitment. Weekends and holiday shifts include additional differential pay.

Job Summary:
Under specific direction, collects and prepares blood specimens and other samples for laboratory testing. Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collects blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary technique and processes the samples according to laboratory guidelines.
Delivers samples to the laboratory in established time frames.
May perform waived testing.
May perform a variety of administrative duties to support the department.
Identifies patients using two identifiers.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent or equivalent years of experience and education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
Rare climbing.
