Overview
SSOE Group is looking for AEC Industry Change Agents! Our Project Technology Team is growing and looking for a motivated VDC practitioner. As a member of this multi-disciplinary team you will drive high value innovations and quality workflow improvements within diverse project markets- in Engineering, Architecture, and Manufacturing. You will be involved in operational efficiency project details, planning, and technology execution with an emphasis in LEAN / Agile principals.
Responsibilities
The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.
- Leads the implementation of project VDC/BIM workflow improvement processes and new technology application.
- Active participant and facilitator with Innovation and New Technology activities across the Company.
- Applies sound and diversified knowledge of BIM technology, Data manipulation, and VDC project delivery principles and practices in broad areas of assignments in related fields.
- Leads and supports the discovery & delivery of technical solutions, practices, and methods, including creating and managing process documentation, process flow maps/diagrams, and other user support materials.
- Assist with technology evaluations and budgets for future technology adoption that aligns with business units' goals.
- Coordinates and performs research and development associated with existing and new software through pilot projects involving operations.
- Supports & mentors operations business unit teams with VDC/BIM model management.
- Leads investigation and or resolution of higher priority technical problems in conjunction with corporate IT and service desk.
- Supports Account and Project Managers with client relationship management and project proposals involving VDC practices or new technology solutions.
- Performs root cause technology. analysis on high priority technical problems and assists in change initiatives to implement solutions.
- Represents the Company as a technical authority in the area of specialty in presentations and conferences, assists marketing department with external and internal VDC communications.
- Participates in the internal community of practice (COP) in development/management of standards, specifications, and workflow processes.
- Coordinates New Technology training utilizing both internal and external resources on pilot development projects.
- Liaison with software developer team and other support channels to execute solution or process improvement
- Travel required.
- Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in architecture or engineering, or construction management preferred
- Experience in a VDC/BIM or Technology role for minimum of five (5) years.
- In lieu of degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of BIM/CAD design experience with SSOE or former employer(s) is required.
- Must be capable of clearly defining appropriate technical approaches and solutions to most critical mission challenges.
Looking for intermediate to Advance skills in two or more of the following:
- Virtual Design & Construction Practices – BIM Uses
- Experience in BIM – Autodesk Solutions preferred
- Cloud Platforms – BIM 360, ACC, O365, etc.
- Reality Capture
- Innovation & New Technology Implementation Projects
- Design Automation – Dynamo and/or Power Automate
