RD for Head Start/Early Head Start Program
The Nutrition Specialist performs support duties primarily related to health services, and responds to specialized questions related to eligibility for health services and record requirements. The Nutrition Specialist maintains all records and billing transactions associated with children receiving health and nutrition services. The position carries out their duties for all of St. Anne’s Early Head Start and Head Start contracts and program options.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Assist the Assistant Director, Health and Nutrition in the ongoing care and individualization of nutrition services to children.
- Coordinate with other specialists and peers in the Support Services department to deliver consistent continuum of care for all Early Head Start and Head Start contracts and program options.
- Train and educate families and children on nutrition-related issues, and conduct home-visits as needed.
- Review nutrition-related screening and assessment results to inform parents and discuss their child’s check-ups and follow-ups.
- Assist health staff in obtaining medical treatment consent forms.
- Assist the Family Service Advocates with screening children as needed and communicating their nutrition needs to parents.
- Train staff on nutrition-related services and procedures.
- Track all nutrition data and follow up as needed.
- Document nutrition-related service delivery in the ChildPlus database system.
- Input data for nutrition-related health reports.
- Maintain current and accurate records as required by the program and ensure confidentiality.
- Maintain, process, and monitor inventories of nutrition-related supplies as needed.
- Monitor compliance of services in regards to all State/Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT).
- Participate in case studies and multi-disciplinary review team meetings to provide children status updates and required follow-ups.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current RD License.
- Bilingual Spanish required.

Pay: $28.45 - $28.46 per hour
