St. Croix Health is looking for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting with month-end closing, managing service contracts, non-patient accounts receivable, providing cross-department support and audit and cost report support. Also maintains the fixed asset system for the organization.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting with month-end closing, managing service contracts, non-patient accounts receivable, providing cross-department support and audit and cost report support. Also maintains the fixed asset system for the organization.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Month-end close duties
- Prepare monthly journal entries ensuring accuracy and reasonableness in estimates.
- Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations
- Compile statistics for the organization and posts into Intacct.
- Manage service contracts for the organization
- Process standard purchase requests in Intacct
- Maintain master spreadsheet of all organization contracts
- Manage contract renewals
- Manage non-patient accounts receivable
- Prepare invoices and posts payments on account
- Reconcile non-patient A/R accounts to general ledger
- Cross Department Support
- Gather and analyzs information from other departments.
- Meet with assigned department leaders to review financial reports.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Post supplies used in Surgery department into Envi.
- Manage and reconcile file transfer of supplies to Epic.
- Provide support for audits and cost reports
- Prepare supporting documentation for audit and cost report requests
- Fixed Asset duties
- Reconcile monthly fixed asset and Construction In Progress (CIP) balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare monthly journal entries for reclassifications and capitalization.
- Understand capitalization versus expense theory.
- Prepare year-end CIP and fixed asset reconciliations by asset life and category.
- Update Asset Edge with annual additions/deletions and reconciles to the general ledger
- Perform audit of fixed assets annually
Education & Licensure:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; and,
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting field preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Accounting or Accounting related role.
- Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
- Demonstrated knowledge in basic accounting principles (GAAP)
- Strong ethical grounding
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient computer skills in accounting systems
- Intermediate level skills in Excel formulas and pivot tables
- Excellent critical thinking, reasoning and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
