Job Summary/Scope:
Provides general clerical support and customer service for the REC Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greets REC Center patrons and guests and provides exceptional customer service.
Answers and handles incoming calls and interacts with the public. Provides general REC Center information.
Verifies membership and provides entry to fitness area.
Performs cashiering duties.
Performs general clerical duties for the REC Center.
Assists in the concession areas when necessary.
Run daily reports and balance drawers for deposit.
Schedule facility rentals and events.
Tracks memberships, fitness classes and walking track patrons.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with setup & tear down of programs, activities, & events.
Assists with various activities and events in the REC Center.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required (Essential) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skills in telephone etiquette, detailed record keeping, working with numbers.
Knowledge of computer and related programs, general office procedures, keyboarding, fax machine, copy machine and other various office equipment.
Knowledge of money handling, accounting and record keeping
Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED training certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or an equivalent nationally recognized course in First Aid/CPR/AED.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to learn all new software programs associated with REC Center.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to the public and fellow employees.
Ability to work flexible hours, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Valid Driver's License preferred.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Material and Equipment Directly Used:
Uses a variety of office equipment such as computer and related software, copier, fax machine, telephone, typewriter, calculator and other related equipment. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is generally performed in an office setting with a controlled environment. Will be required to work outdoors at various events/programs on a seasonal basis, where conditions can vary from extreme heat and cold with dust, dirt, snow, ice and noise, while standing, bending, lifting and other physical activities. Seldom needs to lift more than 10 to 20 pounds. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. One or more years of experience or any combination of formal education and work experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. First Aid/CPR/AED training certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or an equivalent nationally recognized course in First Aid/CPR/AED preferred.
Passing of a drug screening required prior to appointment.
