Assistant Director Job Function

The Assistant Director is a key role of St. Joseph’s Helpers. The Assistant Director is responsible for complying with the Mission Statement of the organization. The Assistant Director provides confidential and high-level support to the Executive Director. Duties range from administrative, clerical, and internal and external affairs related to the operations of St Joseph’s Helpers. The position reports directly to the Executive Director.

1) General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for representing SJH in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Executive Director.
  • Recommend to the Executive Director, policies and procedures for the improvement of SJH
  • Help the Executive Director with the implementation and compliance of the policies and procedures

2) Financial Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Director in fundraising and developing other revenues necessary to support SJH’s mission.

3) Organization Operations:

  • Responsible for effective administration of SJH operations.
  • Maintain materials for volunteers
  • Follow up with home owners after volunteer visit and record
  • Help in recruitment of SJH Volunteers (office and field)
  • Supervise, and collaborate with organization staff.
  • Serve as SJH spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, and the general public.
  • Be involved with marketing and other communications efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Exec Director.

4) Professional Qualifications Needed;

  • Transparent and high integrity leadership
  • Experience and skill in working with others.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to donors, volunteers, organizations and the overall community.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
  • Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, and task facilitation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking ability.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Rockwood, MI 48173: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Volunteer management: 1 year (Preferred)
