MACHINE OPERATOR
Stabilus is a global leader in the production of gas springs and dampers on five continents. This position will be located at ACE Controls, Inc., a Stabilus company. ACE is the internationally recognized expert in the field of industrial damping technology. The company’s portfolio now includes automation control, motion control, vibration control and safety products.
Ace Controls is seeking a Machine Operator for 1st Shift (6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.). We are currently working 10 hours shifts. We are looking for a great candidate who has some machine operation experience and is willing to learn as we will provide cross-training on a variety of production equipment.
SUMMARY: After training, operates various production machines including the following: single and multi-spindle drill presses, punch press, milling machines, thread tappers, broach reaming, cut-off machines, bending and straightening presses, washing equipment, and brazing equipment. May use simple jigs on close tolerance operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
Performs deburring operations on machined parts.
After training, records quality control/assurances information. Specifically fills out SPC charts, p charts, c charts, u charts and np charts as requested.
After training, reads simple go/no go gages, ring gages, height gages, plug gages, micrometers, veneer gages.
Responsible for quality levels of operations performed.
Responsible for simple preventative maintenance of machines.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for housekeeping in work areas.
Responsible for the proper documentation regarding timecards, production records and other documentation as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
6 months of machine operation experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to perform simple mathematical processes to in order maintain SPC charts.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Analytical skills to determine when a machine goes out of calibration.
