We have an exciting new opportunity for EMT-Bs in Texarkana and surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity for seasoned EMTs interested in contract work. Pay starts at $21/hr.

EMT Duties/Responsibilities:

• Drive the mobile intensive care unit safely and proficiently to a specified location, following instructions from the emergency medical dispatcher.
• Administer first aid treatment or basic life support care to sick or injured persons in prehospital settings.
• Comfort and reassure patients.
• Complying with applicable policies and procedures, SOPs, and medical protocols.
• Completing patient care reports and other documentation.
• Communicate with dispatchers or treatment center personnel to provide information about the situation or to receive instructions for further treatment.
• Coordinate work with other emergency medical team members or police or fire department personnel.
• Maintaining vehicles, stations, and communication and medical equipment.
• Decontaminate the ambulance interior following the treatment of a patient with an infectious disease, and report the case to the proper authorities.

• 16-week assignment
• 7 days ON/ 7 days OFF
• 12 hr shifts
• Base pay: $21/hr.
• OT: $31.50/hr.
• Opportunity to pick up overtime shifts on OFF hours depending on availability
• Biweekly pay schedule
• You will be assisting a private EMS company doing inter-facility transfers and responding to 911 calls
• Call volume: : 3 to 6 per 12-hour shift per shift. IFTs average 1.5 - 2.5 hours.
• Lodging Provided

Required Skills:

• Texas and Arkansas EMT license
• (Locals preferred)
• BLS Certification required
• At Least 3 years of experience with IFTs or 911
• At least 3 years of experience driving an ambulance

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
