Position Overview : As a Shipping / Receiving Clerk you will play a vital role in our logistics operations, responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming materials and outgoing shipments.
Your meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure the smooth flow of goods through our facility, ultimately supporting our mission to deliver superior products to our customers.
Responsibilities :
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing slips or purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, discrepancies, or defects, and report any issues to appropriate personnel.
- Accurately record receiving and inventory data in electronic or manual systems.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling items according to customer requirements and shipping instructions.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized and clean receiving and shipping areas, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to resolve shipment discrepancies or address customer inquiries.
- Adhere to established shipping / receiving procedures and regulations, including hazardous materials handling and international shipping requirements.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience in shipping / receiving or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (certification may be required).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using shipping software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and external partners.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in logistics or supply chain management is desirable.
