Our client is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to work on large scale ground-up Engineering-Procurement- Construction project that requires exceptional talent. The product portfolio is expanding with never-built-before production lines, and requirements demand cell production volume at a scale which was once thought to be impossible to reach. Our environment is fast-paced and incredibly exciting. The position is located in Sparks, NV.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will be asked to be the primary civil engineering lead for the design and engineering efforts to support construction of infrastructure development, from concept level to production.
- Lead all civil site design and land development concept evaluations and decisions, leading to completion of construction drawings for permit and construction execution including site layout, grading and drainage, and site utilities
- Manage multiple projects throughout planning, design, bid, and construction phases
- Drive support staff, internal and 3rd-party engineers
- Interface with external Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms during bid and project execution phases as needed to ensure that designs and specifications meet our Engineering Standards.
- Define and plan project work scope, schedules, budget, and resource requirements
- Independently develop high quality civil engineering products including construction document drawings, specifications, narratives, and calculations
- Effectively and proactively communicate project needs, changes, and status to internal and external team members
- Present design concepts and progress at project milestones (30%, 60%, 90%, IFC) design reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams
- Able to develop quantity take offs and assist with cost estimating for projects in short time frames
- Assist with development of Scope of Work, Basis of Design, Scheduling, and Estimating documents.
- Conduct meetings and coordinate permitting agencies to obtain jurisdictional approvals of civil engineering scope
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Registered and in good standing as a Professional Engineer (PE), with ability to obtain license with state of Nevada
- 5 years of hands-on experience facility civil site design
- Experience in civil engineering design, stormwater management plans (flood control and stormwater quality), stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), heavy civil, wastewater, and manufacturing operational construction
- Site development background with experience in design of roadway, grading, pavements, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, domestic & fire water main systems, erosion and sediment control, and traffic plans
- Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, as well as hydrology/stormwater management software for civil design
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and timelines
- Ability to communicate clearly and interface at an executive level within a diverse team
- Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion
- Demonstrates a creative problem-solving approach; ability to develop alternatives and innovative design solutions

- Experience in jurisdictions local to factory sites
- Experience in heavy infrastructure and transportation design
- Experience in transportation and traffic analysis from at local scales
- Experience in project sites with multi-users and modes of transportation
