What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of QA position at Standard Cognition?
At Standard Cognition, we’re revolutionizing the way the world shops. By replacing cash registers with computer vision-powered checkout, we’re creating a frictionless experience for shoppers. Since launching in 2017, Standard has contracts with multiple global retailers and is in the process of deploying our Standard Checkout solution across thousands of stores globally. We are looking for an analytical leader to scale our lab and data creation operations to support rapid growth and increasing sku complexity. Our QA team is at the intersection of cutting edge technology and on-the-ground physical spaces, working to build simulations and data sets with a goal of delivering a world-class experience for our retailers.
This is a FULL-TIME remote role located in the United States.
What you'll do here:
- Build the organizational vision for QA at Standard
- Coordinate and evaluate bugs and product limitations with dev and product teams
- Test complex hardware/software systems by designing and executing open-ended, lab-simulated and structured tests
- Manage manual testing team with responsibility for quality and costs with the goal of finding, reliably reproducing and documenting issues before they reach customers
- Build teams and processes to create large, high quality, well labeled sets of images that our system supports
- Write test reports and/or automate test result reporting
- Measure and evaluate key customer metrics before and after launch
Who you are:
- Experience in strategic data science/analytics or QA in a technology company
- Experience leading diverse teams and demonstrated ability to simplify technical concepts for broad audiences
- Expert collaborator with the ability to work closely with internal and external partners
- Creative problem solver with the ability to reimagine workflows and solve complex problems
