We want individuals to join our growing North American based team to support geospatial challenges across Stantec; apply your technical experience and use of geospatial solutions to a wide spectrum of projects. As such, we have an exciting and rewarding role to join our expanding team. We are seeking to add Geospatial Manager / Team Lead within our Pacific geography. Preferred location would be California with other locations in the Pacific Northwest area optional.

Your Opportunity
This role as Geospatial Manager / Team Lead will leverage Stantec’s Win, Do, Manage, Grow strategy. Responsible for leading geospatial projects and supporting other pursuits, delivery of geospatial solutions to our clients, and provide day to day leadership to an existing team of geospatial professionals. You will work in alignment with water delivery and local leaders and support Environmental services business to provide operational, technical and people leadership to the geospatial teams, and continue to support our growth and success in the West geography.
Your Key Responsibilities
Business Development &Growth Strategy:
- Lead and/or conduct business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, developing leads, and securing contracts.
- Work with Business Center Leadership to identify priorities and strategic opportunities in the geographic market.
- Actively contribute to win strategies, key pursuits, and successful project delivery
- Actively contribute to the growth Geospatial discipline through business development, key pursuit, and sales strategy.
- Expand our reach and client base utilizing strong marketing, business development, and sales account management plans.
- Increase visibility of Stantec by sharing our knowledge and innovation story through key client engagements to enhance our reputation and drive revenue.
- Participate in Go/No Go Review process as the Geospatial technical lead.
- Partner with local leaders to drive collaboration on pursuits across geographies and business lines.
- Ensure local marketplace reputation through established relationships and support of leadership.
Geospatial Discipline:
- Collaborate with water delivery and local leadership to establish, nurture, and support cross-discipline project design processes, communication, and best practices.
- Inspire, motivate, and hold team members accountable for project delivery, QAQC, discipline excellence and technical quality, documents quality and best practices in the execution of work.
- Collaborate with the water delivery and local leaders to gather feedback and ensure that the geospatial solution delivery is high quality results, making course corrections when necessary.
- Collaborate with local area leadership, including Project Managers, to meets its operation goals and adhere to the PM framework
Project & Pursuit Focus:
- Lead and support technical delivery of geospatial solutions for significant regional and local project pursuits.
- Maintain constant contact with internal and external clients to ensure high quality of deliverables
- Actively participate, including contribution to written content; proposals, independent technical Reviewers, discipline standards as required.
- Conduct risk management related to projects and pursuits including review of contracts, fees, and proposals on pursuits and in coordination with local leaders and risk management team.
People Leadership & Collaboration:
- Act as a highly regarded leader, thought partner and a source of counsel and advice on geospatial solutions.
- Support the overall talent management lifecycle including career development, employee engagement, succession planning, coaching, and mentoring, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development for the Geospatial discipline.
- Collaborate with Water delivery leadership and local leaders to ensure the proper staffing of all projects including hiring, staff transitions, and labor sharing.
- Support the Geospatial discipline with developing, attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent.
- Foster employee connectedness by interfacing frequently with employees.
- Participate in regular meetings to communicate the vision, business strategy and progress against applicable action plans.
- Proactively identify opportunities to reinforce and further develop Stantec’s high- performance culture with a focus on innovation, speed, and productivity.

Qualifications
Your Preferred Capabilities and Credentials
- Demonstrated technical leadership in various disciplines within Geospatial market.
- Significant knowledge of geospatial concepts/solutions and data management techniques.
- Deep knowledge of Esri software suite; Enterprise, AGO, ArcGIS Pro.
- Experience with developing and implementing strategic growth plans in geospatial services.
- Experience with publishing data and configuring web apps on the ArcGIS Online platform.
- Experience creating solutions using ArcGIS platform applications including Field Maps, Survey 123, Web AppBuilder, and Dashboard.
- Understanding of Python routines using the ArcPy and ArcGIS API for Python libraries.
- Strong project planning and delivery experience.
- Strong ability to motivate staff and promote teamwork within and across multiple office and geographies.
- Broad networks of client and discipline contacts to help grow client base and recruit staff
- Results oriented individual who excels in multi-disciplinary environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- GISP would be preferred.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 15 years’ related work, leadership, and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Professional registration in related field.

Salary Range(s):
104,700.00 - 157,100.00 (CA, CO locations only)The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
