Your Opportunity
We are looking to expand our archaeological team in the western United States. This position will report to the Cultural Resources lead. Work will take place throughout the Southwest, Great Basin, and Mountain west. This is a fieldwork position and work need is heavily influenced by the seasonal weather. On occasion, there may be opportunity for office and/or lab-based work.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Participate in identifying and recording areas of archeological potential, archaeological sites, and traditional use sites.
- Work closely with a Field Director/Supervisor to make technical recommendations for cultural resources management.
- Collect field data.
- Participate in field reconnaissance surveys (linear and block type)
- Assist in archaeological impact assessments.
- Archaeological monitoring
- Excavations.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Interest in Cultural Resource Management
- Dedicated to following and promoting a strong safety culture.
- Able to travel and work away from home
- A valid driver’s license is required
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required.
- 2 - 4 years of experience.
- Participation in an archaeological field school is seen as an asset.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
