Responsible for cleaning and preparing the property linen supply. Provides laundry service by washing, drying, and storing the property laundry. Keeps the equipment and working area orderly and clean. Counts linen daily and assists with monthly inventories.
- Separates laundry and inspects for stains and repair items.
- Places laundry into washing machines using proper load capacity restrictions.
- Moves laundry from washers into dryer using proper temperature settings.
- Finishes laundry and folds.
- Inspects finished laundry to assure high quality standards.
- Reports all machine malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
- Maintains proper stock levels at all times in order to ensure proper amounts of laundry are available to start the next day.
- Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with all OSHA mandated programs to include MSDS and Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Ensures proper storage and labeling of all chemicals.
- Responsible for monthly inventory.
- Cleans rooms as assigned by Executive Housekeeper.
- Maintains security for guests and property by following all security and safety regulations (i.e. cleans work area, removes all linen from dryers, turns off dryers at the end of the day).
- Separates linen according to classification, fabric and color.
- Cleans dryer filters as scheduled.
- Cleans all equipment and work area daily.
- Maintains par stock of laundry and cleaning supplies.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate
- At all times projects a favorable image of the Hotel to the public
Experience required by position is from one to two years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
High school diploma required. Higher education or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
