What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weld Shop Foreman/Supervisor position at Starhired?
We're looking for a Fabrication Shop Foreman/Supervisor, must be able to set up welding machines, MiG and TiG, hands on fabricating thin metal parts, train and manage parts production. Read and interpret blueprints to determine the specific welding requirements, ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards, provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
Responsibilities:
· Weld and fabricate new sheet metal components in accordance with product data sheets and in compliance with all applicable standards of safety and performance.
· Fabricate thin metal parts.
· Fabricate parts based on blueprint schematics.
· Maintain tools and equipment to a professional standard.
· Coordinate workflow with other members of the team and third-party agents.
· Execute welds in a professional manner, examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
· Work independently or with a small team of other welders to complete large and complex projects. Manage workflow, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot problems daily, in addition to fabrication duties.
· Employ physical strength and endurance to complete all welding tasks.
Job Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent or higher
· 5 years of welding a must
· 3 years fab shop foreman or supervisor experience required
· Ability to read and follow a product data sheet, specs sheet, and other product informational material
· Familiarity with setting up welding equipment and workshop safety protocols
