What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events Coordinator position at STARR Restaurants?
STARR Restaurants is seeking an Events Coordinator to join the growing team in our DC Market! This team member is an integral part of our sales team and will be responsible for answering all inquiries regarding special events and will work to generate new business.
Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and sourcing new business
- Handling incoming inquiries and requests
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with concierges, resident concierges and party planners in the area
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and venues
- Planning event details and aspects
- Creating reliable financial reports and collecting payments on time
- Remaining under budget with all costs
- Managing events and addressing potential problems that may arise
- Planning for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event
- Maintaining a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events
Requirements:
- Undergraduate Degree; Hospitality focus preferred not required.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in both FOH and Event Sales
- Flexible schedule (night/weekend hours required)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Desire to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Highly self-motivated with attention to detail
- A passion for organization, a positive attitude, and an interest in learning the inner workings of event sales and planning from start to finish.
