What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Project Manager position at STARR Restaurants?
STARR Restaurants is looking for a proficient IT Project Manager who will lead major IT initiatives primarily related to constructing and opening new restaurant concepts. Responsible for managing the complete life cycle of straightforward to moderately complex projects, including approval, planning, execution, and closeout, to ensure planned results are achieved on time. Develops budgets and timelines, provides progress-to-plan, and tracks critical project achievements. Works with vendors and internal teams to establish and achieve goals. Coordinates the activities of a cross-functional team and works with moderate guidance in their area of knowledge.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage all assigned projects to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, meeting budgetary demands, and maintaining overall project ownership
- Use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, changes
- Identify project scope and objects. Manage a cross-functional team, including third-party vendors and other resources; coordinates activities to achieve goals
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project plans, action item registers, and major milestone timelines for all assigned projects. Provides constant monitoring of labor, equipment, and materials budgets.
- Coordinate resources and needs, developing and maintaining regular contact with vendors for support and services
- Maintain communication with stakeholders. Provides status reports to IT Team, company leadership, vendors, stakeholders, and other project resources
- Facilitates project meetings
- Address problems through risk management and contingency planning and presents solutions and/or options to executive management
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Acts as the single point of responsibility and accountability for IT within the project
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary
- Perform field verification of prospective work site. Documents all issues with the site and keeps everyone informed of potential issues and solutions
- Coordinates all drawings and documentation between all internal and external stakeholders. Facilitates and directs design reviews to ensure proper documentation in the field. Coordinates all system programming and final checkout of systems. Provides punch list of remaining tasks after substantial completion
- Demonstrates proactivity, responsiveness, and follow-through
Qualified candidates will have:
- Associates/Bachelor's degree required and/or relevant experience
- PMP certification from the Project Management Institute - a plus!
- 3 years of experience managing projects
- Project Management experience in Construction, Technology, Telecommunications, or related fields
- Experience in Ethernet Cabling, CCTV, Access Control, or Fire/Burg Alarm
- Experience working with engineered drawings, bid specifications, and construction take-offs
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
