Responsibilities:- Assist the attorneys on PIP Defense Team with the handling of a significant volume of No-fault cases.
- Communicate with PIP Claim Representatives regarding information and documents needed to draft or annex to respondent's defenses.
- Draft sophisticated legal documents including Reply Briefs, Answers, Discovery Responses, and Answers to Interrogatories.
- Have basic understanding of medical terminology, medical records, medical testing, typical injuries and typical treatment.
- Review and prepare files for arbitration hearings.
- Review incoming mail, draft letters to claimant's attorneys
- Prepare post-hearing submissions and expert exchanges.
- No-Fault experience and/or litigation experience, paralegal degree, certificate and/or medical training.
- Ability to proactively manage a high-volume caseload, processing written discovery, reviewing medical records, preparing conciliations, etc.
- Experience with New Jersey E-filing/Forthright filing procedures
- Strong technical agility including proficiency in software technology and tools such as Microsoft Suite, Adobe Professional, and case management software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, to interact with team member, clients, customers, courts, and vendors in a professional manner
- Ability to work with moderate supervision on clearly defined tasks and priorities
