The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Fairbanks International Airport is looking for a Maintenance Specialist - Bldg / Facility / Const - Journey 1 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing
As a Maintenance Specialist, you will utilize your skills and expertise to effectively communicate with foremen, managers, building tenants, and the public, ensuring job satisfaction and smooth operations.
You will manage work orders, perform tasks independently or as part of a team, and make decisions to complete work safely and professionally.
Your responsibilities include repairing and maintaining baggage handling systems, plumbing fixtures, sheet metal ducting, doors, cabinets, walkways, and overhead doors, along with performing roof repairs and preventive maintenance on building systems.
Additionally, you will service air compressors, maintain fan and pump bearings, construct and remodel building walls, and handle carpentry, painting, concrete work, and locksmithing.
Creating and installing signs, operating equipment like trucks and forklifts, and maintaining fire safety systems are also key duties, ensuring the operational integrity and safety of the facilities for all occupants and visitors.
