- General Cleaning / Custodial Work / Snow Removal. Performs mopping and waxing floors, washing walls, lights and furniture, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms by following appropriate sanitary standards, using appropriate equipment and cleaning materials, sweeping, vacuuming, and emptying trash receptacles, shampoo carpeted flooring and upholstery, re-finish wood floorings. Related duties according to Position Description.
- Supervisor, Feedback, and Training. This position supervises four (4) Custodian I positions. Performs, oversees, and/or schedules and coordinates the scheduling and work assignments of all cleaning and other assigned work activities of the custodial staff including work orders; requests for furniture, equipment and office moves; "set ups and take downs" of conference/meeting rooms; special projects; and snow removal when requested.
- Inspection. Conducts daily, weekly and/or monthly walk-through of all assigned areas as scheduled to check work performance and conditions of areas and to conduct both visual and written quality control and other types of inspections as needed to monitor compliance with departmental, infection control, safety and hazardous materials standards and requirements.
- Record Keeping. Keeps records and maintains various documents, reports, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, timekeeping, payroll, performance plans and appraisals, departmental plans, policies and procedures. All to the completed and/or submitted on schedule and /or in a timely manner as required to adhere to policies and to support the operations of the department and agency.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force. This position requires heavy lifting (following appropriate safety requirements).
- Custodian positions at CSDB are designated as "essential services" positions, and the persons selected for these positions are required to be on duty to perform essential and/or emergency services of the State / school without delay or interruption to ensure health, safety, and welfare, regardless of inclement weather conditions.
- Shift Work required: afternoon or evening shift work (based upon agency need); eligible for shift differential.
- This Custodian III position at CSDB is exempt from overtime compensation.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) at the Survival (1 ) skill level, or applicants must be willing and able to attain proficiency at the level required within a specified period of time, as demonstrated by an appropriate assessment tool and according to school policy/procedures.
- Selected applicant(s) will be required to submit to and pass a background check, to include Colorado and Federal criminal history checks, employment verification, and professional/personal reference checks.
- Knowledge of and ability to assess and apply technology to perform the requirements of the position; ability to effectively utilize a variety of computer software applications, which may include but is not limited to e-mail, Internet, word processing, electronic calendar, presentation development, spreadsheet, database, etc.; willingness to stay current and develop skills as needed with or without direct support from CSDB.
- Ability to respond effectively and positively to feedback; ability to participate effectively in a team setting and to work independently; strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective organizational skills; effective problem-solving skills.
- A courteous, professional and helpful attitude in the role of CSDB representative.
