Salary range - $65,407.42 - $82,687.54 ($2,515.67 - $3,180.29 biweekly).  Salary will be determined based on experience.

The Work You Will Do:

Under the supervision of the Chief Legal Counsel and Assistant General Counsel for Medicaid, this position applies his or her legal expertise to handle litigation, to research federal and state Medicaid issues, to conduct legal discovery, and to prepare legal pleadings and briefs.  The attorney must be able to assimilate and analyze a variety of legislation and legal concepts relating to Medicaid. 

 

Examples of Work Performed:

 

Handles administrative litigation before the Division of Administrative Hearings and the Agency throughout the State of Florida.

 

Assists with legal research in evaluating state statutes and preparation of legal opinions.

 

Prepares and drafts routine pleadings, briefs, agreements, and related legal documents.

 

Provides legal counsel on behalf of the Agency on legal matters related to the Medicaid program; interprets state and federal legislation related to Medicaid.

 

Performs legal research concerning the interpretation of Florida Statutes and the Florida Administrative Code on Medicaid program matters in question.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the Florida Bar and two years of professional experience in the practice of law, legal research, teaching law or in administrative judicial hearings. 

 

Preference given to candidate with litigation experience.
