The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections, Lewiston facility is seeking a full-time Office Services Supervisor 1 to join our front office Administration team.

JCC–Lewiston provides a highly structured, staff-secure program using a Social Learning model based on the Positive Peer Culture foundation. The program provides custody and treatment of male juveniles whose criminal history requires services beyond the community. The Lewiston program adheres to the five pillared approach of targeted treatment, education, counseling, family engagement, and skills building. In addition, the program focuses on cognitive skills building designed to alter criminal thinking patterns and requires that juveniles are accountable for behavior and rewarded for progress.

Responsibilities:
- First line supervisors of support staff in a work unit and are accountable for the work performed.
- Interview and hire new employees.
- Prioritize workloads, assign work, and monitor quality of work for completeness, accuracy of content, and compliance with agency policy. Evaluate, train, motivate, and direct support staff by developing expectations, objectives, and counseling employees.
- Handle employee performance issues and resolve employee conflicts.
- Determine training needs and recommend training programs.
- Perform the more complex duties required of the unit, handling issues that cannot be resolved by staff.
- Frequent contact with internal and external customers or the public to gather or supply information concerning the work function.
- Recommend and implement new methods, procedures, or strategies to solve work problems and improve productivity.
- Assess office needs and make recommendations to office managers regarding equipment, space, and staff requirements.
Good knowledge of:
- Office support functions.
- Supervisory practices.
- Interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services.
- Independently solving problems/performing liaison activities to deal with individuals or resolve conflicts in a work setting.
