Job Distinctions:
Differs from the Habilitation Aide by the responsibility for instruction of clients.
Differs from the Habilitation Instructor by the lack of professional level responsibilities.Plans activities for all handicapped classes (emotional, visual, mental, physical or cognitive).
Instructs clients in such activities, physical education, cognitive skills, and homemaking as established in habilitation plan.
In accordance with licensing requirements, maintains appropriate records relative to student progress.
Evaluates student skill level and sets objectives, monitoring achievement of progress.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in the care, guidance, or education of a group of educable children or adults, such as normal, developmentally disabled, or physically handicapped.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience.
