BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is supervisory, investigative, and protective services work involving the enforcement of Maine State laws, Fish & Wildlife conservation laws, rules and regulations and other laws within the jurisdiction of the Maine Warden Service. Responsibilities include directing, overseeing, and evaluating Wardens in assigned geographic area or specialized Warden Service activity. Work includes supervising subordinate personnel; organizing and directing search and rescue operations; overseeing or conducting investigations or complex cases; serious incidents and personnel performance complaints; promoting departmental goals; reviewing and preparing reports; and training Warden Service personnel. In the absence of the Game Warden Lieutenant a Sergeant may be asked to act for a short period of time in the Lieutenant position. Work is performed under limited supervision.
Special Requirement: Successful applicant must comply with General Order # E-38. Applicants must have a current MCJA Law Enforcement Certification.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Four (4) years certified Law Enforcement experience which must include at least three (3) years as a Maine Game Warden.
HIRING PROCESS: The hiring process will consist of an interview in front of a selection panel, a reference check, a review of the material described below and a final Colonel’s interview.
